Developing of a new SAP license model progresses
It has been known on the market that SAP is developing a new license model, according to many this was in due time.
The new license model is expected a) to be future oriented (solving the issue Indirect Access, treating of data send to SAP systems by means of Robots, Machine Learning and so on) and b) transparent.
SBN who is engaged in the international project group (License Charter) in close cooperation with other SAP user communities from countries like USA and Germany, has by this engagement a certain influence on the development.
Not quite unexpected there is a lot of focus on the issue ‘Indirect Access’ (ref. various articles concerning the ‘Diageo’ case). We would like to inform you that an agreement has been made between SAP and Diageo, which solves the issue.
We also have been informed that SAP intends to communicate the new license models during the second quarter 2018.
If this timeline will be kept it suits our planned License day Webinar on the 26th of April perfectly.
To say in a popular way: stay tuned!!
